Edit- 19/06/12- For the welcome to the #COT2012 Social Media Surgery, and video of us in action helping our participants get started with Twitter and in the group itself please see my preious post: http://claireot.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/welcome-to-the-social-media-surgery-at-cot2012/
Kirsty Stanley (@Kirstyes) discusses her group, who were novices in the use of Social Media and wanted to know the basics about using Facebook and Twitter as occupational therapists.
@Helen_OTUK discusses her group, who were concerned with the ethics of using Social Media. Helen was able to explain some of the ethical implications of using these tools, and was able to reassure the participants of the safety mechanisms to put in place.
My sub-group during the Social Media Surgery had already used social media in their personal lives, but were now keen to use social media in practice with their service users. Here is my review after the Social Media Surgery.
As promised, the group of links to the Oxford Internet Survery, the HPC standards, and the Creative Commons licensing that we discussed in my group.
